Welcome to Kusadasi! You will be transferred to your hotel and the rest of the day is yours, free to explore this harbour side resort town. Tonight you meet your guide and fellow travelling companions.

Ephesus

Absorb yourself in history today with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the site of the Temple of Artemis. Feel the mystical atmosphere of the ancient city and theatre before continuing to the house of the Virgin Mary. Carpet weaving has long traditions in Turkey and at the carpet village we learn how the carpets are made by hand and what determines their value.

Pergamum, Troy

This morning we will enjoy a display of locally handcrafted leather goods before driving along the Aegean coast to the ancient town of Pergamum with its magnificent acropolis and one of the steepest theatres in the world. Its impressive temples, library and medical facilities made it a renowned cultural and political centre in its time. We then continue up the Aegean coast to visit the ancient city of Troy, famous for the legendary Trojan horse from the times of beautiful Helen, Queen of Sparta, and Paris, the Trojan Prince.

Gallipoli Battlefields, Istanbul

Relaxed morning to explore the town of Canakkale before an afternoon tour of the World War I battlefields of Gallipoli including Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, ANZAC Cove, Brighton Beach, Beach Cemetery, Ari Burnu Cemetery, Johnston’s Jolly (where you'll visit original Allied and Turkish trenches and tunnels), 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial, The Nek and the Gallipoli Museum. After the tour we continue on to Istanbul.
